How does this work?

At UTD, VOICE a registered student organization is working with the SG and the University Food Services to provide Pure Vegetarian/Vegan meals on campus for $5. At UTA, MYL is the registered organization in collaboration with the SG and University Food services brings you the $5 meals on campus. Boxed lunches, packed in compostable boxes, will be handed out at the preassigned location (see below for location).

Meal registrations are for the present week only (Do not book for following week). Information must be received preferably by 9.00am on the day you desire to have the meal and latest by 10.30am. In case you cannot book online, please send an email to krishnalunchdallas@gmail.com or stop by (we usually have some extras). Or you can download our app on the Android or iOS app store, search for Krishna Lunch Dallas.

One box is automatically added when you press the appropriate meal registration button (UTD meal reservations for UTD). If you want more than one box, click on the drop down menu. For more than 5 boxes you will have to sign up twice. Also *IMP* please enter the day that you would like to receive the box (for orders received before 10.3o am the day of the service, the default will be for the same day, unless stated otherwise)

Example:

1. For one box on Thursday check “one box :$5” in the drop down menu, Enter Thursday in the “Day of the week” section. Press the meal reservation button.

2. If you want a box on Wednesday and Thursday, check the “Two Boxes: $10” in the drop down menu. Put Wednesday and Thursday in “Days of the week section” Press the meal reservation button.

Whats in my box?

The best of the Vegan/Vegetarian meals!!!! A generous serving of Vegetables in Sauce, Lentils, Rice (usually flavored, and mixed with vegetables) and a sweet. Check out our menu for the day here. Check also our Food Philosophy here.

Where will the meals be served in UTD?

At UTD you will find us in SSB 2.102 (this is a common area lounge). We will be there every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between the hours of noon and 1pm. (A small video about us @ UTD)

Where will the meals be served in UTA?

At UTA you will generally find us in the University Center, 2nd Floor, Blanco Room. However since this is the first semester, we could not reserve the room through the semester, so we will be posting on the UTA page the location in case we move. We will be there every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between the hours of noon and 1pm.

Who can register?

Everyone has access to this facility. The meals cater to the needs of students who are strict vegetarians and/or vegans, and require a meat-free environment for the food that is prepared. See also our Food Philosophy page.

Can I buy on site?

Yes (at UTD). We will have a small number of extra boxes on campus. You can pay using cash or Visa/MC. We will also try to be setup with a computer so that you can pay through our website.

For UTA, currently we are only accepting pre-orders. If you forget to order, stop by and we may have a cancellation. You can post-pay for your box.

Can I take extra boxes for using later?

Absolutely. The boxes are compostable (made from sugarcane fibers, provided by EcoDallas) and can be microwaved. However when microwaving due to the compostable nature of the boxes, they do tend to get soft on the bottom. The good part is that no carcinogens are leeching into your food when you do microwave, or store for a long time.

I am not at UTD or UTA?

How do I register?

Please use the PayPal facility through the meals registration boxes (separate for UTA/UTD) on the front page. If you dont have a Paypal account, you can checkout as a guest using a Credit/Debit Card etc.

Can I pay using a Credit/Debit Card?

Yes, you can pay using the “Pay with a debit or credit card” option.

How much is the cost of the box?

Each box costs $5.00. If this is your first ever Krishna Lunch on your campus, your first meal is $3.00! Please use the paypal facility through the meals registration box on the front page or pay on site using cash of Credit card.

What if I am late?

Please call or text us at 214 642 2488 in case you are not able to come at the allotted time before noon of the day you reserved your meal. However if you are not able to make it, we can make a one time exception to provide you a box the next day at no additional cost. (Or you can donate it to a friend, they will surely appreciate it 🙂 ). We are a student run group, and we have to pay whether we sell the box or not, so appreciate your not cancelling.

What about allergies?

Krishna Lunch Dallas does not hold responsibility for any allergic reactions for those with food allergies. There is a possibility that manufacturers of the commercial foods we use could change the formulation at any time, without notice. Customers concerned with food allergies need to be aware of this risk. Krishna Lunch Dallas (or the restaurants we cater from) will not assume any liability for adverse reactions to food consumed, or items one may come in contact with while eating our products.
